Giving Voice To The Indigenous People of this Land
One of the most significant music projects we have created is an ongoing and living concert performance of our 2018 Nisenan Cultural Music Project that we curated with the Nisenans from the Nevada City Rancheria. The Nisenan Cultural Music Project is a 50-minute performance that includes new music, traditional tribal songs, and short video documentaries that offer the listener an opportunity to gain a better understanding of their history, their culture and the relationship they have to their homeland.
Vox Musica seeks to give voice to the indigenous people that have been struggling to survive in our community. Their story needs to be told - their music needs to be shared.
Education Is Important to Vox
Did you know that you can request Vox Musica to present an educational program for your institution? Vox Musica’s Educational Outreach Programs serve as a means of discovery for students new to music (or to formal music instruction in general) and as a valuable source of expert training, historical education, and inspiration for young students, singers and or musicians.
